The purpose of the Far North Coast Uniting Presbytery
To inspire, encourage and resource congregations and faith communities to achieve their mission that God calls them to, in the town they are situated, and beyond.
To produce growing, vibrant exciting healthy communities of followers of Jesus, and for those communities to be a blessing to this area of the far north coast of NSW.
The Presbytery Area
The Presbytery area stretches from the Clarence River to the Queensland border and from the Tasman Sea to the Great Dividing Range. There are forty two congregations or preaching places combining into 14 congregation groups.
The Far North Coast is the most biologically diverse region in NSW, with stunning beaches, World Heritage areas, character-filled villages and productive rural hinterlands. It is no surprise that around 2500 people come to settle in the region each year to enjoy the lifestyle.
The region’s natural wealth is also the basis of resource industries, expanding exports and tourism, which contribute significantly to the State economy.
In the next 25 years the region’s population is expected to grow more than 26% to 289, 000.
